Privacy Policy
Last updated: 5 June 2026
1. Who we are
UKTeachingJobs (ukteachingjobs.com) is a UK school discovery and teaching jobs platform. The data controller responsible for your personal data is UKTeachingJobs. For any privacy question or to exercise your rights, contact privacy@ukteachingjobs.com.
2. What data we collect
We do NOT collect:
- CVs, job applications, or any candidate data — applications happen entirely on external sites (Teaching Vacancies, school and agency websites)
- User accounts or registrations (none exist at this time)
- Payment or financial information
- Special category data, or data about children
We may process:
- Aggregate usage statistics via Google Analytics 4, but only if you consent. By default — and if you decline — Google Consent Mode v2 keeps analytics storage denied, so no analytics cookies are set. With your consent we measure aggregate page views, referrers, approximate location, device type, and on-site interactions — such as the searches you run and clicks on “Apply” or outbound links. The words you type into search are sent to Google Analytics, so please don’t include personal information in a search. We do not use any of this to identify you, and we have not enabled Google’s advertising features.
- Server logs kept by our hosting providers for security and reliability, which may briefly include IP addresses.
- Any information you choose to send us by email (e.g. an enquiry), which we use only to respond to you.
3. Lawful basis (UK GDPR)
For operating, securing and improving this free public-information service, our lawful basis is legitimate interests, balanced against your rights. For analytics cookies we rely on your consent(UK GDPR and PECR) — analytics only runs after you accept, and you can withdraw consent at any time via “Cookie Settings”.
4. Cookies
We use strictly necessary local storageto make the site work (for example, to remember a school comparison you’ve started, or your cookie choices). With your consent we also use Google Analytics 4, which sets analytics cookies; until you consent, Google Consent Mode v2 keeps analytics storage denied. Our cookie banner lets you accept or reject, you can change your choice anytime via “Cookie Settings” in the footer, and we honour the Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal. We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies. See our Cookie Policy for details.
5. Where our public data comes from
School, inspection and job data is reproduced from publicly available government sources under the Open Government Licence v3.0: GIAS (Get Information About Schools), Ofsted, Teaching Vacancies, and the Crown Commercial Service. This is organisational data, not your personal data.
6. Job applications & agencies
Every “Apply” link and agency link opens an external website. We do not receive, store or process any application or candidate data. Once you leave our site, the privacy policy of the destination site applies.
7. Who we share data with (processors)
We use a small number of trusted service providers to run the site:
- Supabase — database hosting for our public school, job and agency data
- Vercel — website hosting and delivery
- Google (Google Analytics 4) — aggregate usage statistics, loaded only after you consent
We never sell your data, and we do not share it for advertising. Some providers may process data outside the UK (for example, Google in the United States); where they do, appropriate safeguards such as UK/EU approved transfer mechanisms apply.
8. How long we keep data
We keep only what we need. Aggregate analytics are retained in anonymised form. Emails you send us are kept only as long as needed to deal with your enquiry. We hold no user accounts or candidate records.
9. Your rights
Under UK GDPR you have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you
- Request correction or erasure of your data
- Restrict or object to processing
- Data portability
- Withdraw consent where we relied on it
To exercise any of these, email privacy@ukteachingjobs.com. Because we collect so little, most requests can be resolved by clearing your browser data. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO).
10. Children
This site provides information about schools for adults (teachers, parents, families). It is not directed at children and we do not knowingly collect data from them.
11. Changes to this policy
We will update this policy as the service develops — particularly before launching any feature that collects additional data (such as job alerts or agency accounts). The “last updated” date above always reflects the current version.
