After School Club Assistant

Lift Trinity · London · Haringey

Job description

We are looking for a caring, enthusiastic and reliable After School Club Assistant to join our team at Lift Trinity. This is an exciting opportunity to help create a fun, safe and engaging environment where children can learn, play and thrive after the school day.

We are seeking someone who is passionate about supporting children's development and wellbeing, and who enjoys planning creative activities that encourage confidence, independence and positive relationships. Working as part of our wider school team, you will play an important role in providing high-quality after-school care that supports both our pupils and their families.

About the role

As an After School Club Assistant, you will help organise and deliver a range of engaging activities, making sure every child feels safe, included and supported. You will help the club run smoothly each day, creating an environment where children can enjoy their time, develop new skills and build positive relationships.

What we're looking for

We are looking for someone who is warm, approachable and genuinely enjoys helping children learn, grow and have fun. You will be reliable, patient and organised, with the ability to work well as part of a team.

You will ideally have experience working with children and an understanding of their individual needs, although just as importantly, you will bring a positive attitude, a willingness to get involved and a commitment to keeping children safe and happy.

Key responsibilities

  • Plan, prepare and deliver engaging activities that meet the individual developmental needs of children.
  • Create a safe, welcoming and stimulating environment where children can play, learn and develop.
  • Encourage children's social, emotional, physical and creative development through a range of structured and free-play activities.
  • Work closely with colleagues to ensure high standards of care and supervision at all times.
  • Register pupils and follow school procedures for attendance and safeguarding.
  • Prepare and distribute healthy snacks while promoting good hygiene and healthy lifestyles.
  • Build positive relationships with children, parents and carers, providing feedback where appropriate.
  • Liaise with the School Operations Manager regarding the planning, attendance and day-to-day running of the club.
  • Maintain a clean, organised and safe environment before, during and after each session.
  • Promote positive behaviour and follow school policies relating to safeguarding, health and safety, behaviour and first aid.
