Purpose of the Role

The Apprentice Learning Support Assistant plays a key role in supporting pupils to access learning and achieve their full potential. Working under the guidance of teaching staff, the post holder will provide tailored in-class support, help to remove barriers to learning, and contribute to a positive, inclusive environment where all pupils feel supported and valued.

Working closely with the SENCO and senior leaders, the role will focus particularly on supporting pupils with specific learning needs, those experiencing emotional or behavioural difficulties, and those who may feel withdrawn, isolated or display school-avoidant behaviours. The post holder will also contribute to the planning, delivery and evaluation of alternative provision and targeted interventions, ensuring that support is responsive, effective and aligned with individual pupil needs.

This role offers the opportunity to gain valuable, hands-on experience in a school setting while developing the skills, knowledge and confidence required for a successful career in education, SEND support or pastoral care.
