Job description
Job Title: Assistant Headteacher - Lead for Inclusion and Behaviour Culture
Location: Esteem North Academy
Grade/Scale: Leadership Pay Scale - Actual Salary £55,746 - £61,534 per annum (L4 - L8)
Contract: 32.5 hours per week
We are looking to recruit an experienced and successful Senior Leader to join our academy to lead on all aspects of inclusion by carrying out the role of SENDCo across all sites. This role will also involve leading on our Pupil Premium Strategy and continue to drive our inclusion culture through our work as part of the Centre of Excellence Quality Mark. We are a multi sited AP academy in the north of Derbyshire and wish to appoint a strong leader who can promote our values and trauma informed ethos with regards to our behaviour strategy.
Pupils typically come to our academy as they are permanently excluded due to challenging behaviour. Pupils have historically low attendance and are often extremely complex with additional SEND and safeguarding needs. We require an innovative leader to strategically plan to address our SEND provision for all pupils.
Applicants should have good knowledge and experience of working to the Code of Practice and of driving whole school culture. An affinity for pupils with behavioural, emotional and social difficulties is an essential quality for this challenging but rewarding opportunity. Applicants should be resilient, have high expectations, and a sense of humour. You must be able to build positive relationships with our pupils and think outside of the box. A growth mindset and positive ethos are essential characteristics that we are looking for.
An allocated base will be named for payment of mileage and any travel calculations will be made depending on travel either from home or your base. Please be aware of all of the academy sites as there will be travel between all sites and other destinations as part of this role in our academy. Candidates must have access to a car and business use included. You may be expected to transport pupils in your own car.
Interested applicants should contact the Executive Headteacher to discuss our academy further and your suitability for this role prior to making an application.
Please see the attached Application pack including a Welcome from The Executive Headteacher and more information about Esteem North Academy and Esteem MAT.

- Access to National College CPD platform.
