Dogsthorpe Infant School is seeking an exceptional Assistant Headteacher with responsibility for Inclusion to join our Senior Leadership Team and play a pivotal role in shaping the educational experiences and outcomes of all pupils, particularly those with SEND and additional barriers to learning. This role is offered on a part time basis (0.6FTE).

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced and inspirational educator to lead our inclusive vision, champion vulnerable learners and contribute to the strategic development of our school.

About the Role

As Assistant Headteacher, you will:

  • Serve as the school's designated SENCO, leading and developing high-quality SEND provision across the school.
  • Champion outcomes for children in receipt of Pupil Premium funding.
  • Work alongside the Headteacher and Deputy Headteacher to provide strategic leadership and drive school improvement.
  • Support staff development and support colleagues to deliver inclusive, high-quality teaching and learning.
  • Develop strong partnerships with families, external agencies and wider stakeholders.
  • Act as a Designated Safeguarding Lead and contribute to the wellbeing, attendance and achievement of our pupils.
  • Line manage and develop members of our support staff team.

  • Is an outstanding classroom practitioner with a strong understanding of effective teaching and learning.
  • Has significant experience supporting pupils with SEND and additional needs.
  • Has successful leadership experience and a proven ability to inspire, coach and develop colleagues.
  • Is passionate about inclusion, equity and ensuring every child achieves their full potential.
  • Can analyse data effectively and use it to drive improvement.
  • Demonstrates excellent communication, organisational and interpersonal skills.
  • Brings energy, resilience, emotional intelligence and a commitment to continuous professional development.
