Assistant Senco at Joseph Norton Academy
Joseph Norton Academy is a special academy educating children and young people with Social, Emotional and Mental Health difficulties. The school prides itself on its use of nurture, social pedagogy and its laser sharp focus on preparing pupils for adulthood. We are recruiting ahead of a significant expansion that will see the school move from Scissett to Deighton.
As an Assistant Senco you will be working closely with the SLT playing an instrumental part in ensuring every student reaches their full potential. You will primarily support our SENCO by assisting in the assessment, planning and delivery of interventions for students with special educational needs, working closely with teachers to ensure appropriate support is provided within the classroom, and contributing to the overall strategy for inclusive practices within the school.
In this rewarding role, you will:
Lead SEND reviews and maintain meticulous records.
Efficiently manage SEND paperwork and administration.
Build strong relationships with parents and outside agencies.
Actively contribute to meetings and foster a positive learning environment.
Supporting students with therapeutic, pastoral and personal care needs.
What we are looking for:
An experienced practitioner with a strong track record in managing teams, delivering staff development and leading SEND/Equality initiatives for vulnerable children and their families
Comprehensive knowledge of supporting pupils with diverse needs
