Job location: Oakfield Academy

Working hours: 18.75 hours per week. 08:45am - 12:30pm, Monday to Friday

Term time Only, INSET days + 1 week (40 weeks per year) 

Pay: Grade B  £25,614 - £25,956 FTE. Actual Annual Salary £11,387.51 - £11,539.56

We are seeking to appoint a part-time Assistant Teacher to work alongside our teaching staff in supporting learning and helping children to thrive across the school.

We are looking for someone who:

  • Works effectively as part of a team.

  • Brings enthusiasm, positivity, patience, humour and an understanding of child development.

  • Has a good standard of English and mathematics to support curriculum delivery.

  • Can help create a classroom environment that embraces diversity and promotes mutual respect.

  • Has strong communication skills and can communicate sensitively and effectively with parents and carers, keeping them informed of progress and concerns as directed by the class teacher.

Previous school experience is desirable but not essential. Full training and professional development opportunities will be provided to support successful applicants in delivering the very best outcomes for our children.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide invaluable support to the class teacher in delivering high-quality learning experiences.

  • Promote positive values, attitudes and behaviour in line with the school's behaviour policy.

  • Support the planning and delivery of school events and extracurricular activities.

  • Deliver one-to-one and small group interventions to address individual learning needs.

  • Supervise and engage children during lunchtime, helping to create a positive and enjoyable experience.

  • Adhere to all school policies, including safeguarding, health and safety, confidentiality and data protection requirements.
