Job description

Castleford Trust is seeking to appoint a highly motivated and experienced Assistant Trust Catering Manager to support the strategic leadership and operational delivery of our Trust-wide catering service. We are looking for a proactive and resilient professional who can build strong relationships and drive high standards across multiple sites.

This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in shaping and developing a high-quality, compliant, and efficient catering service across our academies. Our delivery model enables school leaders to focus on educational excellence, while ensuring pupils benefit from nutritious, well-managed food provision.

Working closely with the Trust Catering Manager and wider Trust leadership, you will support the delivery of a consistent, high-standard catering service across all sites. You will contribute to both strategic planning and hands-on operational management, ensuring compliance, quality, and continuous improvement.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting the strategic development and day-to-day management of the Trust catering service
  • Ensuring compliance with food safety, health and safety, and statutory regulations (including COSHH and HACCP)
  • Overseeing menu planning, food quality, and service standards
  • Supporting contract management, including maintenance of catering equipment
  • Monitoring performance, supporting the implementation of quality assurance processes, and driving service improvements
  • Supporting, training, and developing catering teams across the Trust including day to day service provision support as required

You will bring:

  • Significant experience delivering a high-quality catering service in an educational or commercial setting
  • Proven experience developing and implementing catering strategies, policies, and procedures
  • Strong understanding of catering legislation and regulatory frameworks, including food safety and health and safety
  • Experience of quality assurance, performance monitoring, and continuous improvement
  • A track record of supporting and developing staff and teams
  • A strong skill set in food preparation and cooking to enable good quality nutritious meals.

You will be:

  • Committed to the Trust’s ethos, values, and vision
  • A strong communicator, confident working with a wide range of stakeholders
  • Able to inspire and support colleagues to drive improvement
  • Organised, adaptable, and resilient, with a solution-focused approach
  • Willing to travel regularly between sites and hold a full UK driving licence
