We wish to appoint a dynamic and diligent non-teaching Behaviour Manager and Pastoral Support to join the Pastoral Team and work under the direction of the Assistant Headteacher - Behaviour and Rewards in running the Schools internal Behaviour Room.
The role is primarily to maintain positive student conduct, manage challenging behaviour and supporting pupils' social-emotional needs. This role involves running a Behaviour Room, implementing interventions, liaising with parents and working with the Pastoral team and Senior Leadership team to create a calm, inclusive learning environment for our students.
The role provides a complimentary service to the school, addressing the needs of children who require assistance in overcoming barriers (including challenging behaviour, anxiety and low self-esteem) to learning in order to achieve their full potential. This is a crucial role and falls within the Pastoral Team. The primary focus will be to ensure students are able to access and attend lessons, offering intervention for incidents and supporting reintegration into lessons, with support and strategies employed to encourage this. Developing strong connections with students, parents, staff and external agencies are key for this role. Working under the direction of the Assistant Headteacher, the postholder will work with a range of pupils, but will give priority to those who need the most help.
Candidates will ideally have previous pastoral or behaviour experience or have worked in a similar role in school environment. They must also possess strong ICT skills allowing them to use multiple platforms, have excellent time management, organisation and communication skills and be used to working in a fast-paced environment. Candidates must also be able to work on their own initiative.
