Caretaker

Denewood Academy · Nottingham · Nottingham

Job description

The role in a nutshell

We are seeking to recruit an enthusiastic and dedicated caretaker to join our team. You will play a vital role in Academy life, ensuring a safe, clean, and inspiring environment where our pupils and staff can thrive, directly supporting our core ambition to provide an excellent education to all children.

As a member of the Trust’s Caretaking Team, the post holder will work under the direction of the Trust Estate Lead to ensure the efficient and effective management of the Trust’s buildings and will work across the estate in collaboration with colleagues to assist with the delivery of site management duties as and when required.

While each day can be incredibly diverse, the primary role of a caretaker is to monitor and manage the quality of work undertaken by a small cleaning team as well as management of the Trust’s buildings and adherence to all health and safety premises management legislation.

The candidate

The ideal candidate will have or can demonstrate a commitment to undertake professional development. You will need:

  • A good standard of literacy and numeracy
  • Excellent communication skills
  • A commitment to teamwork

We welcome applications from everyone who believes they meet the expectations of the role regardless of age, gender, ethnicity, sexual orientation, faith, or disability. To ensure that our staff composition is representative of the communities we serve, applications from groups who are currently under-represented in education including people with disabilities and people from minority ethnic backgrounds are particularly encouraged.
