Caretaker including Minibus Driver

About This Role

We are looking for somebody who will be well motivated and proactive in their approach with a keen eye for detail and takes pride in their work. The successful candidate will undertake a range of caretaking, maintenance and minibus driving duties, ensuring the school buildings and grounds are safe, secure and fit for purpose, while supporting the safe transport of our learners.

Caretaking responsibilities will include carrying out duties in line with health and safety requirements, identifying and taking appropriate action where hazards are found, maintaining the school grounds, undertaking minor repairs, completing portage duties, and collecting and assembling waste. You will also support the day-to-day operational needs of the school.

An ability to work unsupervised, be adaptable, proactive and flexible

A strong work ethic and ability to carry out daily maintenance tasks

Strong communication skills with the ability to build excellent working relationships and the ability to work as part of a team

A full, valid UK driving licence with the appropriate entitlement to drive the school minibus, in accordance with legal and insurance requirements.

A sense of humour and a can-do attitude to ensure high standards.

Take an active part in the life of the school to enhance the provision for our school community.

A degree of flexibility is required in order to facilitate covering the opening and closing during school holidays, events and meetings.
