Catering Assistant

Contract: Permanent

Hours: 22.5 hours per week, 38 weeks (term time only)

Working pattern: 9.45am - 2.15pm, Monday to Friday

Salary: Pathway 1, £12,387 - £12,581 per annum (FTE £24,413 - £24,796)

Site: Gladstone Primary Academy

Your role:

As a Catering Assistant at Gladstone Primary Academy, you will play a crucial role in ensuring a high level of food preparation and service. You will provide courteous and efficient service to children, staff, and visitors, maintaining cleanliness and adhering to food hygiene and health & safety standards. Your responsibilities will include washing up, serving lunches, and clearing the dining hall after service. You will also assist the kitchen staff with cleaning duties and promote a welcoming atmosphere within the department.

You already have a basic knowledge of food safety and hygiene, and an understanding of health and safety practices. Experience in a catering environment is essential and working with children is desirable. You should be able to work both independently and as part of a team, building positive relationships with young children, staff, and other adults within the school. A commitment to equality, diversity, and safeguarding policies is essential.
