The Role

As a Catering Assistant, you will play a vital role in fueling our students and staff throughout the school day. This is a hands-on position where your energy and positive attitude will help create a welcoming dining experience.

Your main responsibilities will include:

  • Food Prep:Undertaking basic food preparation tasks (chopping vegetables, assembling cold dishes, making sandwiches, finishing and setting out desserts, taking finished hot dishes from the ovens to set up for service).
  • Service with a Smile:Serving meals to lively secondary school students and staff during busy break and lunch periods.
  • Kitchen Hygiene:Maintaining high standards of cleanliness by washing up, operating the commercial dishwasher, and cleaning the kitchen and dining areas.
  • Till Operation:Operating the cashless biometric catering system (training provided).
  • Safety First:Following strict food safety and Health & Safety regulations.

Ideally, you will have:

  • A friendly, approachable manner and the ability to communicate well with teenagers.
  • The ability to work quickly and efficiently under pressure during peak lunchtime rushes.
  • A strong commitment to teamwork, punctuality, and cleanliness.
  • Desirable but not essential:A current Level 2 Food Hygiene Certificate (we will provide training if you don’t have one).
