Class Teacher

St George’s Catholic Voluntary Academy is a thriving and ambitious Catholic primary school at the heart of the Littleover community in Derby. In May 2024, the school was graded Outstanding in all areas by Ofsted, with inspectors recognising the school’s exceptionally high standards, strong Catholic ethos and unwavering commitment to ensuring every child succeeds.

At St George’s, we are proud of our strong sense of community, our caring and inclusive ethos, and our commitment to excellence in both academic achievement and personal development. Rooted in our mission of ‘Grow in Faith, Have Faith in Growing’, we strive to ensure that every child is known, valued and supported to reach their full potential.

We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic, dedicated and reflective teacher who shares our passion for high-quality teaching and learning and who is committed to helping every pupil thrive. The successful candidate will join a talented and supportive team where professional development is prioritised, collaboration is valued and staff wellbeing matters.

Whether you are at the beginning of your teaching career or looking for your next professional challenge, St George’s offers an exciting opportunity to work within an Outstanding school and a highly supportive Catholic Multi-Academy Trust.

You will be responsible for:

  • Teaching a class, including planning, recording, assessing and meeting the social and learning needs of pupils
  • Maintaining the positive Catholic ethos and core values of the school
  • Fulfilling the professional responsibilities of a teacher and meeting the expectations set out in the Teachers’ Standards

What are we looking for?

If you are an enthusiastic and knowledgeable teacher who is committed to getting the best outcomes for pupils then we want to hear from you. The successful candidate will be able to build effective working relationships with pupils, parents and colleagues and will adapt their teaching to meet the needs of all pupils.

The St Ralph Sherwin Catholic Multi-Academy Trust is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. This post is subject to satisfactory references, which will be requested, prior to interview, an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check, medical check, evidence of qualifications plus verification of the right to work in the UK.

Please note that the closing date may be brought forward depending upon interest.
