Job description
Alderman’s Green Primary School is looking to appoint a reliable, hardworking and conscientious Cleaner to join our dedicated school team.
As a Cleaner, you will play an important role in creating a clean, safe and welcoming environment for our pupils, staff and visitors. Working as part of the school team, you will help maintain consistently high standards of cleanliness and hygiene across the school.
The roleYou will be responsible for cleaning designated areas of the school, including classrooms, communal areas, corridors and toilets. Duties will include:
- Sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, buffing and washing floors
- Dusting and polishing surfaces, furniture and fixtures
- Cleaning toilets and shower areas to a high standard
- Emptying bins and dealing with waste appropriately
- Cleaning windows and other designated areas
- Safely using cleaning equipment and products in line with COSHH requirements
- Identifying and reporting hazards, spillages, damage or maintenance issues
- Helping ensure the school is clean, safe and ready for pupils and staff each day

- Willing to learn and follow safe working practices
Previous cleaning experience is desirable but not essential, as training will be provided. No specific qualifications are required.

Location: Alderman’s Green Road, Coventry, CV2 1PP
Contract: Permanent
Hours: 16 hours 15 minutes per week, 3.00pm-6.15pm
Working weeks: 39 weeks per year
Holiday working: One week during the school holidays will be required for deep cleaning, with dates agreed in advance
Salary: Grade 1, Point 3 - £24,795.86 FTE / £9,493 pro rata
Start date: As soon as possible
Responsible to: Site Manager
