Curriculum Lead for Science

Tudor Grange Academy Kingshurst · Birmingham · Solihull

Job description

The Role

An outstanding Curriculum Leader of Science is required to join a committed and hard-working department. The department has close links to other schools in the Tudor Grange Academy Trust. A wide range of teaching and learning strategies are used in the delivery of Science including a focus on developing students’ independence and contextualising the learning.

Additionally, you will benefit from:

  • Joining a department ready to move to the next stage of its journey
  • Teaching in a forward thinking department with excellent resources and facilities for teachers who love their subject.
  • The support of other TLR holders, including subject leads for Biology, Chemistry and Physics with opportunities for growth and development across the academy and trust
  • In addition, there are three science technicians.
  • Working in a department where every teacher has their own lab.
  • A supportive and friendly senior leadership team

The recruitment process is robust in seeking to establish the commitment of candidates to support the school’s measures to safeguard children and to identify, deter or reject people who might pose a risk of harm to children or are otherwise unsuited to work with them. The successful applicant will be required to undertake an Enhanced DBS check. All applications will be considered on their merit and the post will be offered subject to the usual health and criminal record clearance. We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expect all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.
