Windsor High School and Sixth Form · Halesowen · Dudley

Job description

About Our School and Windsor Academy Trust

Welcome to our ambitious and high-achieving secondary school. We are a supportive and inclusive community where every student is encouraged to excel. Our passionate staff are committed to providing an inspiring learning environment, equipping our young people with the knowledge, skills, and character they need to succeed in their future.

Windsor High School and Sixth Form is a large and successful mixed 11-18 comprehensive academy of approximately 1700 students, nearly 300 of which are in our thriving Sixth Form.

We incredibly proud to be part of the Windsor Academy Trust family of schools. Working within the Trust means you benefit from shared expertise, wider opportunities, and a powerful network of support. This collective power allows us to focus relentlessly on our shared moral purpose: unlocking the academic and personal potential of every child, while ensuring our staff thrive.

About the Role

Windsor High School and Sixth is seeking an exceptional Curriculum Leader of Physics to shape, elevate, and drive our science curriculum. We are looking for an educator with outstanding subject knowledge, a passion for practical-based learning, and the leadership vision to inspire both students and colleagues.

About You

We are looking for an ambitious, subject-passionate Secondary Teacher who:

  • Holds QTS and possesses deep, enthusiastic knowledge of your specific subject area.

  • Thrives in a high-expectations environment and is dedicated to driving social mobility.

  • Is eager to embrace digital technology to enhance teaching and learning.

What We Offer You

We want you to love coming to work. Here is how we support, develop, and look after you from the moment you join us:

A Supportive Family & True Collaboration You are never teaching on an island at Windsor Academy Trust. We are a team that co-creates, supports one another, and ensures every single voice is heard.

  • A Warm Welcome: From Day One, you will be welcomed into an inclusive faculty and paired with a mentor through our 90-day Buddy Programme.

  • The EmpowerED Strategy: You will be equipped with 1:1 iPad technology, transforming how you explain, model, and assess learning, while removing traditional barriers for your students.

  • Cross-Trust Networks: Tap into shared planning and a brilliant network of secondary subject specialists across our family of schools.

Time to Teach, Space to Breathe

We are serious about protecting your time, reducing burnout, and helping you reclaim your weekends.

  • Workload Protection: Benefit from intelligent feedback systems, automated admin tools, and an exceptional behaviour support team so you can focus entirely on teaching.

  • Less Bureaucracy: We have actively stripped away unnecessary meetings and endless data drops.

  • Your Wellbeing First: Access a comprehensive support package, including a confidential Employee Assistance Programme (EAP) and healthcare benefits.

A Bespoke Pathway for Your Career

We are committed to helping you reach your full potential, offering clear avenues for professional development.

  • The Talent Institute: Accelerate your career with evidence-informed coaching via StepLab and fully funded National Professional Qualifications (NPQs).

  • Tailored to You: Whether you want to master your subject pedagogy, step into pastoral or faculty leadership, or become a Lead Practitioner, we build a bespoke learning pathway just for you.

Safeguarding & DBS Requirements

Because the safety of our students is our absolute priority, please note that this role is subject to an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check, alongside other standard pre-employment safeguarding checks. We are proud to be an equal opportunities employer dedicated to safer recruitment.
