Job description
The Stephen Longfellow Academy is seeking to recruit an inspirational colleague to the role of Curriculum Leader of English. This role is of great importance to our work as an Academy - the successful applicant will be expected to provide strong leadership that results in a English Department which provides first class teaching and learning opportunities for both students and staff, instigates and develops innovative approaches to English that will stimulate all students to achieve their full potential and ensure the delivery of high-quality provision in curricular and extra-curricular activities.
Potential applicants should have:
- A good honours degree in a directly related subject and Qualified Teacher Status.
- A strong track record of teaching English with evidence of securing excellent outcomes and raising student achievement.
- In-depth knowledge of current curriculum developments and effective teaching and learning strategies in English.
- The ability to lead, inspire and develop others, with a commitment to high standards, innovation and continuous improvement.
- A passion for education and a commitment to making a positive difference to students’ lives.
