Helston Community College, part of Truro and Penwith Academy Trust, is excited to offer an opportunity for an experienced and committed individual to join our dedicated Pastoral Team as a Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead. This is a vital role in ensuring the safety and wellbeing of our students.

What You’ll Do:

As Deputy DSL, you will:

· Share responsibility for safeguarding and child protection across the College.

· Participate in strategy discussions and inter-agency meetings.

· Contribute to the assessment of children and young people.

· Provide advice and support to staff on child welfare and protection matters.

· Liaise effectively with external agencies including the local authority and Police.

What We’re Looking for:

We are seeking someone who:

· Is confident and able to build strong relationships with students aged 11 – 18.

· Holds a Safeguarding Level 3 qualification [or is willing to work towards it]

· Has excellent communication, organisational, and interpersonal skills.

· Can work independently and collaboratively within a team.

· Has recent experience working in a safeguarding role.
