Early Years Class Teacher (+ potential Phase Leader responsibility)

Langford Village Community Primary School · Bicester · Oxfordshire

Job description

Are you an enthusiastic, reflective and committed teacher who strives to make a real difference to children’s lives? We are seeking to appoint a passionate practitioner to join our ambitious, supportive and successful team.

Langford Village Community Primary School is a thriving and ambitious two form entry school. We respect and value all our children and are committed to making learning exciting and enjoyable, with the right support and challenge to achieve.

We encourage our children to have a passion for learning by creating an engaging, fun and relevant curriculum. In our wider learning, we provide nurture and enable our children to be resilient and confident, developing skills to be lifelong learners.

What we are looking for:

  • A qualified teacher (QTS required) with experience in primary education. We welcome applications from high-quality ECTs as well as experienced teachers.
  • There is opportunity for individuals with the appropriate credentials to also apply for Phase Leader responsibility within the FSU. Please explicitly state in your application whether you would like to be considered for Phase Leader responsibility.
  • The ability to create an engaging, inclusive, and inspiring learning environment.
  • Excellent communication skills and a warm, positive approach to working with pupils, families, and colleagues.
  • Someone who demonstrates high expectations for behaviour, learning and achievement
  • A reflective, organised individual who can work proactively, flexibly and collaboratively as part of a supportive team.
  • A strong commitment to raising standards and driving continuous improvement.
  • An individual who has the ability and willingness to make a broader contribution to Langford Village Community Primary School

You will be someone who:

  • Puts children at the heart of everything you do and genuinely believes that every child can flourish.
  • Is bubbly, enthusiastic, energetic and inspiring, bringing positivity and excitement to the classroom every day.
  • Has a deep understanding of the EYFS and what high-quality provision looks and feels like.
  • Is passionate about enhanced continuous provision, knowing how to create environments that spark curiosity, develop independence and provide rich opportunities for children to learn through play.
  • Understands that continuous provision is not simply about what is out, but about carefully planned experiences, skilful adult interaction, language development, challenge and progression.
  • Is confident in identifying children's starting points and using this knowledge to ensure that provision meets the needs of all learners.
  • Wants children to develop a love of learning, confidence, resilience and independence.
  • Is an excellent role model who can inspire and support colleagues and lead a phase with enthusiasm and purpose.
  • Is reflective and ambitious, always looking for ways to make provision even better.

What we offer:

  • A warm and welcoming environment where every child is known and valued.
  • The opportunity to join a team of talented, friendly and supportive colleagues.
  • Opportunities to be creative in your teaching and shape the curriculum.
  • A strong commitment to your professional development and wellbeing.
  • A strong sense of community, supported by parents and colleagues.

If you are a dynamic educator who believes in the power of encouragement, inclusion and high expectations, we’d love to hear from you. Visits to the school are warmly welcomed and highly recommended.

Please contact Mrs Zoe Baker at zbaker0326@langford-village.oxon.sch.uk to arrange a visit or phone call with the Headteacher.
