Early Years General Teaching Assistant

Hampsthwaite Church of England Primary School · Harrogate · North Yorkshire

Job description

We are seeking a caring, reliable and enthusiastic individual to join our dedicated Early Years team.

You will support young children’s development through nurturing interactions and high-quality play-based learning. The role involves creating a warm, safe and engaging environment where children feel secure and confident to explore and learn. You will help to establish consistent routines and clear expectations, while encouraging independence, curiosity and positive behaviour.

Working closely with the lead practitioner in Nursery, you will support teaching and learning in line with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework, including working with individuals and small groups to promote progress across all areas of learning. Experience of supporting children with SEND is desirable.

Hampsthwaite is part of Yorkshire Causeway Trust, a supportive and collaborative Multi-Academy Trust which believes in ‘ambition, learning and enrichment for all.’ Should you be successful in your application, we will offer you a warm, happy school where everyone is valued; an opportunity to work with an experienced and committed team and to take a role in a place of work that is determined to reach the highest of standards; a school that is forward thinking in terms of curriculum, teaching and learning; a school which enjoys strong links with the local community and above all, a workplace that is committed to the wellbeing of all of its stakeholders.

If this sounds like you and a role that you would relish, please look carefully at the following materials and complete the application form.
