Early Years Practitioner (EYP)

The Role

  • Workplace:Opossum Federation contract with an initial base atNewport Nursery.
  • Position:Permanent.
  • Salary:Scale 6, point 18-21 (£35,520 - £37,134 FTE / £30,689.99 - £32,084.52 Pro Rata).
  • Hours:36 hours per week, Term Time Only plus inset days.
  • 9.45am-6pm Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday & Friday
  • 9.45am- 5.45pm Thursday

Key Responsibilities

  • Partnership:Work alongside Nursery teachers to help meet the aims of the setting and implement curriculum programming.
  • Child Support:Act as a keyworker for a group of children, observing and assessing their development and maintaining accurate records.
  • Curriculum & Environment:Lead specific activities, contribute to curriculum development, and share responsibility for creating a stimulating learning environment.
  • Parental Engagement:Build trusting relationships with families and encourage parent involvement in their children’s learning.
  • Safeguarding:Share responsibility for the safety, health, and welfare of children at all times.

Requirements

  • Qualifications:NNEB/CACHE Level 3 or NVQ Level 3 in Childcare and Education (Essential).
  • Education:GCSE Grade A*-C in English and Maths or equivalent (Essential).
  • Experience:At least 2 years of experience working with children aged 0-4 (Essential) and experience with children with special needs (Essential).
  • Skills:Excellent communication, ICT competency (Microsoft and Apple systems), and the ability to work flexibly in a fast-paced environment.
  • Compliance:An up-to-date enhanced DBS disclosure is required.
