Are you passionate about changing the life chances of young people?
At Barclay Primary School we live, work, and learn through our five values:
ASPIRATION - Aspiring to be the best that we can be.
KINDNESS - Being kind to everybody - our peers, staff, and the community.
RESPECT - We listen to one another, we take feedback and we improve.
HONESTY - We always tell the truth.
RESPONSIBILITY - We take responsibility for our actions.
We are a popular and fully inclusive primary school serving the community in East London. As a co-educational, six-form entry primary school, Barclay is one of the largest and highest-performing primary schools in the country. Since 2008, the school has risen from the bottom 5% of schools nationally to sustain a place in the top 3% nationally.
As a school, we benefit from being part of the Lion Academy Trust, deploying proven systems and pedagogies to inform how we operate. From a highly resilient IT infrastructure to a fully resourced and carefully sequenced curriculum, we proudly function as part of the family of Trust schools and celebrate the opportunities that being part of a high-performing trust affords us.
Support for new colleagues at Barclay is exceptional. We incorporate our trust induction programme alongside bespoke career professional development. Programmes range from Early Career Teacher development to Middle and Senior Leader qualifications. Our partnership with the Institute of Education enhances this CPD offer, with many professional qualifications open to our team.
Our offer for every teacher:
Bespoke CPD and professional development opportunities;
An enhanced PPA offer, including additional “pre-PPA” to support you;
A large leadership team to offer you the support and guidance that you need;
Cutting-edge technology provided by partners Google and Apple;
A staff perks membership, providing loyalty rewards and discounts from retailers.
New for 2026-27:
All teachers receive a Chromebook that converts to a tablet to support planning.
Every teacher is given dedicated teacher development time in addition to PPA to support their personal growth.
Applications are handled on Teaching Vacancies (GOV.UK).
