Job description

This is an exciting opportunity for a health and safety or compliance professional to play a pivotal role in supporting our schools and ensuring that our estate remains fully compliant, safe and well-managed.

Working across a growing family of schools, you will provide leadership and assurance on all matters relating to premises compliance, statutory inspections, health and safety, estates risk management and policy development.

You will work closely with school leaders, premises teams and Trust executives to ensure that robust systems are in place, statutory responsibilities are met, and Trustees receive the assurance they need regarding the safety and compliance of our schools.

About the Role

As Estates Business Partner - Compliance, Health & Safety, you will:

  • Lead the Trust's estates compliance and health and safety function.
  • Ensure all statutory inspections, servicing and testing are completed on time.
  • Develop and maintain compliance systems, policies and procedures.
  • Carry out audits and compliance reviews across Trust schools.
  • Support leaders to effectively manage health and safety responsibilities.
  • Monitor compliance risks and implement improvement plans.
  • Provide assurance reporting to senior leaders and Trustees.
  • Build a positive culture of compliance and risk management across the Trust.

This is a varied role combining strategic planning, professional advice, audit, assurance and operational support.

About You

  • Understands estates and premises compliance requirements within complex organisations.
  • Has experience of carrying out audits, inspections and assurance reviews.
  • Can confidently advise and challenge leaders where improvements are needed.
  • Possesses excellent organisational, analytical and communication skills.
  • Can build positive relationships whilst maintaining high standards and accountability.
  • Is passionate about creating safe, compliant and effective educational environments.

Experience within the education sector would be beneficial but is not essential.

Why Join Isle Education Trust?

At Isle Education Trust, we recognise that safe and compliant learning environments are fundamental to educational success.

In return we offer:

  • The opportunity to influence and improve compliance across multiple schools.
  • A varied and rewarding Trust-wide leadership role.
  • A supportive and collaborative Central Team.
  • Professional development and career progression opportunities.
  • Local Government Pension Scheme membership.
  • Employee wellbeing and benefits programmes.
  • Flexible working arrangements where operationally appropriate.

If you are an experienced compliance or health and safety professional looking for an opportunity to make a real difference across a multi-academy trust, we would love to hear from you.
