Are you a highly organised, detail-oriented professional looking to make a real difference in education? Parkwood Academy is seeking an enthusiastic and committed Exams & Cover Officer to join our dedicated team.
In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for the effective administration and coordination of all internal and external examinations, ensuring compliance with awarding body regulations and maintaining the highest standards of accuracy and confidentiality. You will also manage daily staff cover arrangements, liaising with colleagues to ensure the smooth operation of the school and continuity of learning for students.
Key responsibilities:
- Coordinate and administer all internal and external examinations in accordance with JCQ and awarding body regulations.
- Prepare examination timetables, seating plans, candidate entries, and exam materials.
- Managing the recruitment, deployment and training of invigilators, ensuring they are fully informed of current regulations and procedures.
- Organise and manage daily staff cover arrangements, ensuring lessons are appropriately staffed.
- Issuing examination certificates and maintaining accurate examination records
Pay range:
SCP 20 - 26 £29,405.00 - £33,629.43
(FTE: £32,597.00 - £37,280.00)
37 hours per week, 40 weeks per year

Qualifications and Skills:
- Minimum of 5 GCSEs (Grade 4/C or above), including English and Mathematics, or equivalent qualifications
- Ability to work effectively under pressure during busy examination periods.
- Confident user of ICT systems, databases, spreadsheets and reporting tools
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build effective relationships with students, staff, parents, examination boards and external agencies
- Ability to remain calm and professional under pressure.
