Job description

We are seeking a passionate and hard-working individual to take on the role of Early Years Inclusion Assistant. The successful candidate will be someone who is kind, caring and nurturing, who loves working with children and who will help to support our children both academically and socially on their learning journey. This is a full time role in one of our Early Years classes for 28.75 hours (08:30 to 15:30) 5 days a week, and will include supporting the lunchtime period for 30 minutes everyday.

However applications will be considered for those candidates wishing to work part time e.g. five mornings or five afternoons a week.

The successful applicant will:

  • Provide a high standard of academic and social support to the children they work with both in the classroom and during unstructured times.

  • Be able to plan, deliver and monitor work to meet the needs of individual pupils.

  • Support the class teacher by undertaking work under their direction.

  • Have a Maths and English GCSE qualification at Grade C or equivalent.

  • Have a good understanding of the Early Years curriculum.

  • Possess excellent communication and written skills.

  • Be empathetic and understanding of children’s individual learning needs.

  • Be patient, flexible and have a good sense of humour.

  • Be willing to go the extra mile for the children in their care.

Experience of working within a similar role is desirable but training will be provided for the right candidate as we are passionate about providing opportunities for professional development at all levels.
