Facilities Manager

Wimbledon College · London · Merton

Job description

As Facilities Manager, you will oversee the day-to-day operations, safety, and long-term development of the Wimbledon College site. Reporting to the School Business Leader, you will take direct responsibility for our buildings, grounds, health and safety compliance, catering, commercial lettings, and site security.

You will line manage our operational team—including the Site Supervisor, caretaking staff, in-house catering manager, and administrative support—ensuring the school runs safely, efficiently, and smoothly every day. A key part of the role involves managing contractor relationships, overseeing minor works, and driving energy-saving initiatives across the estate in line with our Jesuit ethos (Caring for Our Common Home).

With Wimbledon College due to join the Sancta Familia Catholic Academy Trust this academic year, this is a great time to take on the post. You will work closely with Trust colleagues to align our premises management with DfE standards, share best practice, and ensure our site continues to support the very best environment for our pupils and staff.

Key Requirements:

  • IOSH Managing Safely qualification (or commitment to achieve within 6 months) and Level 3 NVQ/A-Levels.
  • Proven leadership of multi-disciplinary teams (premises, catering, admin).
  • Sound understanding of UK statutory H&S compliance, DfE estate standards, and contract management.

What We Offer:

We offer a supportive well-resources environment with excellent opportunities for professional development within the school and in future, within the Trust.

We reserve the right to close this advert early should a suitable candidate be appointed, so early applications are strongly encouraged.
