Job description
We are seeking a caring, organised and proactive First Aid & Medical Officer to play a vital role in supporting the health, wellbeing and safety of students at The Birley Academy. As the academy's lead first aider, you will manage day-to-day medical provision, administer first aid, maintain accurate health records and coordinate support for students with a range of medical needs. Working closely with colleagues, families and external healthcare professionals, you will help ensure every student can access education in a safe, inclusive and supportive environment. This rewarding role offers the opportunity to make a genuine difference to young people's wellbeing, attendance and success.
What We Are Looking For:
We are looking for a compassionate and resilient individual who is passionate about supporting young people. The successful candidate will have excellent organisational and communication skills, the ability to remain calm under pressure and a commitment to delivering high-quality care. Experience working with children and young people, ideally within an educational setting, is desirable, alongside confidence in liaising with parents, colleagues and external agencies. Most importantly, you will share our commitment to inclusion, safeguarding and helping every student overcome barriers to learning.
Why Join Us?
At The Birley Academy, you'll become part of a supportive, values-driven community where student welfare sits at the heart of everything we do. Rated Good by Ofsted, we are proud of our inclusive culture and ambitious vision for every learner. As part of L.E.A.D. Academy Trust, you'll benefit from excellent professional development opportunities, a collaborative team environment and a comprehensive staff benefits package. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a lasting impact on young people's lives while developing your own skills and career within a forward-thinking and supportive organisation.
Applications are handled on Teaching Vacancies (GOV.UK).
