Join Us as Chair of Governors at Charter Primary School – Make a Lasting Impact in Primary Education

Do you have the leadership skills to guide a committed team of governors and work closely with school leaders to ensure the very best for children? If so, we invite you to apply for the role of Chair of Governors at Charter Primary School, a vibrant and welcoming school which is parent of Castle Phoenix Trust.

About the Role

As Chair of Governors, you will lead the Local Governing Body, ensuring strong governance is in place, focusing on the 4Ss – Safeguarding, SEND, Standards and Stakeholder Engagement. You will work collaboratively with the Headteacher, fellow governors, and the Trust to drive continuous improvement and uphold the highest standards in education, safeguarding, and pupil wellbeing. You will:

· Chair meetings and lead the governing body

· Support and challenge school leadership to ensure the best outcomes for all pupils

· Act as a key link between the school, parents, the community, and the wider Trust

· Ensure compliance with statutory duties and Trust policies

What we are Looking For

We are seeking someone with:

· Strong leadership, communication, and organisational skills

· The ability to build consensus and make sound strategic decisions

· Experience of governance, education, or leadership (not essential – full training provided)

· A genuine commitment to improving children’s lives through excellent education

Why Join Us?

· Be part of a thriving Multi Academy Trust with a shared mission to grow confident learners by leading, learning and excelling together

· Receive training, development, and support from both the school and the Trust

· Work alongside passionate, skilled professionals and make a visible difference in your community

Being a Chair of Governors is a hugely rewarding role, providing the opportunity to make a real difference to young people and give back to your local community.
