About the Role

We are looking for a confident, enthusiastic, and adaptable teaching assistant to join our upper key stage 2 team. This role is essential in ensuring continuity of learning when teachers are absent or require PPA cover. You will lead whole-class teaching under an agreed system of supervision, following prepared plans and maintaining a positive learning environment. you will also be responsible in providing educational support for children needing intervention, as well as providing pastoral care to our children.

Key Responsibilities

  • Delivering whole-class lessons during PPA or teacher absence, ensuring pupils remain engaged and on task.
  • Managing classroom behaviour effectively and promoting a safe, inclusive learning environment.
  • Supporting pupils’ learning and wellbeing, including working with small groups or individuals when required.
  • Building positive relationships with pupils and staff to maintain high standards of learning.
  • Upholding safeguarding procedures and modelling the school’s values at all times.

We Are Looking For

  • Experience working in a classroom setting, ideally with responsibility for whole-class supervision.
  • Confidence in managing behaviour and delivering lessons from prepared plans.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with teaching teams.
  • A positive, resilient individual who values inclusion and contributes to the wider life of the school.
  • A relevant qualification or experience in education. Needs to be at least Level 3 qualified in an educational field.
