Headteacher

Ashton St Peter's VA C of E School · Dunstable · Central Bedfordshire

Job description

Our governors are seeking an experienced, enthusiastic, and inspirational leader to become the next Headteacher of Ashton St Peter's Church of England Primary School in Dunstable.

The successful candidate will be committed to developing and leading a strong Christian vision and will have a deep understanding of the distinctive nature of Church of England education. We are looking for a Headteacher who will actively promote and embody our Christian ethos, ensuring it remains at the heart of every aspect of school life.

At Ashton St Peter's, we believe that true success is measured not only by what we achieve, but by the people we become. Rooted in our Christian values, we nurture children to flourish as individuals, contribute positively to society, and fulfil their potential. We strive to provide an outstanding education, underpinned by excellent pastoral care and high expectations for behaviour and achievement. Our aim is to equip every child with the knowledge, skills, experiences, and character needed to thrive in the next stage of their education and beyond.

Ashton St Peter's is a warm, caring, and inclusive school where every child is known and valued. We educate approximately 210 pupils from Reception to Year 6 and are proud of our strong relationships with families, governors, the church, and the wider community.

As a Church of England school within the Diocese of St Albans, our Christian faith shapes our vision, values, and approach to education. We have recently launched our new vision, 'Finding the Keys to Life and Learning', which reflects our commitment to enabling children to thrive academically, socially, and spiritually. We provide a rich and engaging curriculum, alongside a wide range of opportunities that broaden horizons, inspire curiosity, and foster a lifelong love of learning. We want our children to experience joy and wonder every day and to become confident, compassionate individuals who live out our values in their daily lives.

We have high aspirations for every pupil, both academically and personally. Alongside strong educational outcomes, we are proud of our reputation for sporting success, a diverse programme of enrichment activities, and exceptional pastoral and SEND provision. We are committed to ensuring that every child receives the support and opportunities they need to succeed, and we take great pride in the education and care we provide for the children and families we serve.

Visits to the school are warmly welcomed and strongly encouraged. These can be arranged by contacting the school office: office@ashtonstpeters.beds.sch.uk / 01582 663410
