Salary: £25,907 - £27,665 (pro rata)

We are seeking a committed and skilled Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join the dedicated team at Byron Wood Academy. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in supporting teaching and learning, helping to ensure that every child achieves their full potential.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver high-quality learning activities to individuals, small groups, and whole classes in the absence of a teacher
  • Support teachers in planning, preparing, and delivering engaging lessons
  • Provide targeted intervention and support to pupils to improve outcomes
  • Monitor and assess pupil progress, providing feedback to teaching staff
  • Promote positive behaviour and contribute to a calm and purposeful learning environment
  • Adapt learning activities to meet the needs of all pupils, including those with SEND
  • Contribute to the wider life of the school, supporting enrichment activities where required

What We Are Looking For

  • A qualified HLTA or an experienced teaching assistant ready to take the next step
  • Strong understanding of the primary curriculum and effective teaching strategies
  • Ability to lead learning confidently and manage whole-class situations
  • A proactive and flexible approach, with strong organisational skills
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with pupils, staff, and parents
  • Commitment to inclusion, safeguarding, and supporting every child to succeed
