Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) - Integrated Resource Provision

We are seeking a passionate, committed and enthusiastic Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to support the Senior Leader in Charge of Provision; assisting with operational leadership of our Integrated Resource Provision (IRP), teaching groups of pupils and individuals and supporting their return to mainstream classes when they are ready. This is a unique and exciting opportunity to contribute to develop ambitious and inclusive resource provision, supporting pupils with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), including Speech, Language and Communication Needs (SLCN) and Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. You will play a key role in ensuring pupils can thrive academically, socially and emotionally, and grow in resilience, independence and confidence in their learning.

Our integrated model of provision enables pupils to access both targeted specialist support and meaningful mainstream opportunities, promoting self-regulation, independence, belonging and inclusion. You will work primarily within the IRP whilst also contributing to inclusive practice across the wider school, supporting pupils to successfully reintegrate into mainstream learning and ensuring consistency of approach across all environments. This will require continued research and development into developing and sharing your knowledge of scaffolding learning and adapting teaching to involve wider groups of learners.

We are looking for someone who can:

• Support the Senior Leader in Charge of Provision, assisting with operational leadership of the IRP, including pupil placement, transition and reintegration
• Work closely with WISENDSS, Educational Psychologists and the Local Authority SEN team to build on their advice - securing strong pupil outcomes and effective transition between mainstream and resource lessons.
• Teach regularly and model good practice, monitoring and assessing impact for individual pupils and adapting lessons and intervention accordingly - particularly for pupils with SLCN and SEMH needs
• Act as a passionate advocate for inclusion and change, identifying barriers to learning for pupils with other staff members and working creatively and strategically together to overcome them.
• Build the confidence, competence and experience of other staff across school (through coaching) so that they are able to effectively support the pupils who access the resource provision
• Deliver and model high‑quality teaching and intervention, lead continuous professional development and quality‑assure the work of others where appropriate
• Be a strong advocate for pupil and family voice; listening carefully to them, supporting them to put actions in place that improve routines, organisation and support between home and school

You will:

• Be an experienced and reflective practitioner with a strong track record in SEND, particularly in SLCN and SEMH
• Demonstrate a secure understanding of speech, language and communication needs
• Apply trauma-informed and relational approaches to behaviour
• Be confident leading groups and working independently
• Demonstrate strong partnership working with families and external agencies, sharing our commitment to safeguarding and high expectations for all
• Bring resilience, flexibility and a solution-focused approach
• Be a committed team player with excellent communication skills
• Contribute to the development of others and show a strong commitment to ongoing professional development
