Bousfield Primary School is seeking to appoint an experienced, enthusiastic and highly skilled Higher Level Teaching Assistant (Inclusion and SEND) to join our dedicated team.
This is an exciting opportunity for a talented practitioner to play a key role in supporting pupils with special educational needs and disabilities whilst contributing to the continued development of inclusive practice across the school.
Working closely with the SENCO, teachers and support staff, you will support pupils within the classroom, deliver targeted interventions, provide occasional class cover and help implement projects and initiatives designed to improve outcomes for children with SEND.
The successful candidate will:
- Hold HLTA status or have equivalent experience.
- Have substantial experience supporting pupils with SEND in a primary school.
- Be committed to inclusive practice and high expectations for all learners.
- Have excellent communication and organisational skills.
- Work effectively with teachers, support staff, families and external agencies.
- Be proactive, flexible and solution-focused.
The role will include:
- Supporting pupils with SEND in class and through targeted interventions.
- Working alongside Learning Support Assistants to ensure effective provision.
- Delivering planned intervention programmes.
- Providing occasional whole-class cover.
- Supporting the SENCO with the implementation of SEND initiatives and projects.
- Monitoring and recording pupil progress.
- Contributing to the development of inclusive practice across the school.
