Job description
John Ferneley College is seeking an exceptional Internal Inclusion Manager to lead and develop our Internal Inclusion Room, ensuring that pupils continue to learn, reflect and succeed in a calm, purposeful and supportive environment.
This is a vital role within our pastoral and behaviour support provision, with a direct impact on student engagement, attendance, behaviour and achievement. Working closely with senior leaders, pastoral staff and classroom teachers, you will help pupils overcome barriers to learning and successfully reintegrate into mainstream lessons.
You will have overall responsibility for the day-to-day operation of the Inclusion Room, maintaining high expectations for behaviour, conduct and learning. You will create a structured environment where students can continue their education while receiving the support and guidance they need to make positive choices and achieve their potential.
What we are looking for
We are seeking a confident, resilient and highly organised individual who can build positive relationships whilst maintaining clear boundaries and high standards.
The successful candidate will:
- Be an effective behaviour practitioner with the ability to establish and maintain a purposeful learning environment.
- Demonstrate excellent behaviour management skills and a commitment to inclusive practice.
- Build positive and professional relationships with students, staff, parents and external agencies.
- Work collaboratively with pastoral leaders and teaching staff to maximise students' time spent in lessons and reduce the need for inclusion placements.
- Ensure high levels of attendance, engagement and progress for students attending the Inclusion Room.
- Maintain accurate records, monitor attendance and behaviour data, and produce reports for Senior Leaders.
- Liaise effectively with classroom teachers to ensure appropriate work is provided and completed.
- Demonstrate excellent organisational skills, initiative and the ability to remain calm under pressure.
- Support student welfare and wellbeing while maintaining high expectations.
Be fully committed to safeguarding, equality, inclusion and the values of John Ferneley College.
What we offer
At John Ferneley College, you will be part of a dedicated and supportive team committed to ensuring every student can thrive. We are passionate about developing positive relationships, raising aspirations and creating an environment where all young people feel safe, valued and successful.
This is an exciting opportunity for someone who is passionate about supporting young people, promoting positive behaviour and making a meaningful difference to students' educational experience.
If you thrive on challenge, believe in high expectations and have the determination to support every young person to succeed, we would love to hear from you.
Applications are handled on Teaching Vacancies (GOV.UK).
