Purpose of the Role

To work in partnership with the SENDCo to coordinate, develop and monitor provision for pupils with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), including pupils with Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs) and those working significantly below age-related expectations.

The Inclusion Provision Coordinator will lead the day-to-day organisation of inclusive SEND provision, coordinate SEND support staff, plan and oversee targeted interventions, monitor pupil progress and support the implementation of high-quality inclusive practice across the school. The postholder will work under the direction of the SENDCo whilst exercising initiative and professional judgement in organising provision and supporting pupils with additional needs.

Key Responsibilities

Inclusive SEND Provision

Coordinate and oversee inclusive provision for pupils with SEND, including those with EHCPs and complex learning needs.

Support the development of an inclusive learning environment that enables pupils to access learning and achieve positive outcomes.

Work alongside the SENDCo to identify pupils requiring additional support and appropriate intervention.

Establish and maintain effective systems to ensure pupils receive their specified SEND provision.

Promote high aspirations and expectations for pupils with SEND.

Teaching and Learning

Plan, deliver and evaluate learning programmes and interventions for pupils with SEND.

Develop personalised learning programmes that address individual needs and support progress towards identified outcomes.

Implement and monitor targets identified within EHCPs, Provision Maps and SEND support plans.

Adapt learning activities to meet individual needs and maximise pupil engagement.

Support class teachers in developing strategies and adaptations to meet pupils' additional needs.

Model effective SEND practice and intervention strategies.

Coordination of Support Staff

Coordinate the day-to-day deployment of SEND support staff within inclusive provision.

Provide guidance and direction to support staff to ensure consistency and effectiveness of provision.

Assist the SENDCo in monitoring the quality and impact of support provided.

Support staff in understanding individual pupil needs and delivering planned interventions.

Monitoring and Assessment

Monitor and evaluate pupil progress against identified outcomes and targets.

Collect and analyse assessment information to measure the effectiveness of interventions.

Maintain accurate records relating to pupil provision, progress and intervention programmes.

Contribute to reports and documentation required for SEND reviews and statutory processes.

Support the SENDCo in evaluating the impact of SEND provision across the school.

Working with Parents and Families

Develop positive relationships with parents and carers.

Liaise with families regarding pupil progress, provision and support strategies.

Support parents in understanding the provision available for their child.

Attend and contribute to meetings with parents, carers and professionals.

Multi-Agency Working

Participate in meetings involving external agencies and professionals.

Support the implementation of recommendations made by external specialists.

Contribute to Annual Reviews and other SEND review meetings

Staff Development and Support

Support the SENDCo in delivering guidance and training to staff.

Share effective SEND strategies, resources and good practice.

Assist in developing whole-school understanding of SEND and inclusive practice.

Support colleagues in implementing interventions and provision plans effectively.

Organisation and Administration

Assist in the preparation and maintenance of SEND records and documentation.

Support the organisation of intervention timetables and inclusive provision schedules.

Coordinate resources and equipment required to support pupils with SEND.

Ensure records are accurate, confidential and compliant with relevant legislation and school procedures.

Safeguarding and Welfare

Safeguard and promote the welfare of children at all times.

Follow school safeguarding, behaviour, health and safety and inclusion policies.

Maintain confidentiality and professional standards.

Promote equality, diversity and inclusion in all aspects of the role.

General Duties

Support the vision, values and aims of the school.

Participate in staff meetings, training and professional development activities.

Undertake any other duties commensurate with the grade and responsibilities of the post as reasonably directed by the Headteacher or SENDCo.
