An exciting opportunity has arisen at King Edward VI Handsworth School for Girls for a skilled, compassionate Pastoral Leader to join our Pastoral and Safeguarding team.

The Role of Pastoral Leader Key Stage 4 will take a lead in welfare interventions and act as the Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead for Key Stage 4.  Working closely with the Assistant Headteacher (Director of Safeguarding and Pastoral Year 7-11), you will support the care, development and education of pupil, to ensure their safety and wellbeing while fostering positive relationships with parents and carers.

You will work within a highly integrated and skilled pastoral team, which is led by the Assistant Head Pastoral who is the DSL. It also comprises of teaching Heads of Year, other Key Stage Pastoral Leaders, a Pastoral Manager, Counselling Team, School Nurse and Attendance Officer,

The successful candidate will be based in the Pastoral Hub, working closely with the Heads of Year 10 and 11 and the wider safeguarding team- including their counterparts in Key Stage 4 and 5; the Assistant Head (Sixth Form); and the Assistant Head (Director of Safeguarding and Pastoral Year 7-11).
