Job description
- Have knowledge and experience of the upper KS2 National Curriculum, assessment, teaching and learning
- Have knowledge of autism and an understanding of ways in which children with autism learn differently to their neurotypical peers
- Be able to use their knowledge and understanding of autism to adapt teaching to meet the diverse needs of children with ASC
- To use your knowledge of ASC strategies to adapt learning to meet the needs of all children
- To have an up to date understanding of the KS2 National Curriculum to deliver a broad and balanced curriculum and adapt learning to meet the needs of our children
- To be able to use a wide range of communication tools to communicate with children and young people across the school
- Demonstrate a strong commitment to continuous improvement and innovation by delivering imaginative, adaptive lessons that meet the individual needs of children, in line with their Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs)
- Present with the emotional and physical resilience necessary when working with children with a range of complex needs
- Have experience in the enhancement of children’s progress and raising attainment and achievement in all children
- Have experience of assessing and tracking children’s progress to ensure all learners are making progress
- Have the emotional and physical resilience necessary when working with children with a range of complex needs.
- Have the ability to foster good relationships with other staff, children, parents and the wider community
- Be hardworking, organised and proactive in their professional development.
