Job description
Lady Royd Primary School is seeking an enthusiastic, compassionate and highly motivated Learning Mentor to join our pastoral team in this newly created role. This is an exciting opportunity for someone passionate about supporting children and families, promoting wellbeing, and ensuring every pupil can thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.
As a Learning Mentor, you will work closely with pupils who may be experiencing emotional, social, behavioural or attendance-related challenges. Through one-to-one mentoring, targeted interventions, and positive relationship-building, you will help children build confidence, resilience, and the skills they need to engage successfully in school life.
The role involves working collaboratively with parents, carers, teaching staff and external agencies to identify and overcome barriers to learning. You will support attendance improvement strategies, contribute to family support plans, promote positive mental health and wellbeing, and play a key role in safeguarding and pastoral care across the school.
We are looking for someone with excellent communication and interpersonal skills, experience of working with children and families, and the ability to build strong, professional relationships based on trust and respect. The successful candidate will be organised, resilient and committed to helping every child achieve their full potential.
In return, we offer the opportunity to work within a supportive and ambitious school community that places children at the heart of everything it does. As part of Bradford Diocesan Academies Trust (BDAT), staff benefit from excellent professional development opportunities, a strong culture of collaboration and the chance to make a meaningful impact on the lives of young people every day.
If you are passionate about inclusion, wellbeing and helping children succeed, we would love to hear from you.
Applications are handled on Teaching Vacancies (GOV.UK).
