The Role

Are you looking for a rewarding role where you can truly make a difference to the lives of young people? We are on the lookout for a dedicated and enthusiastic individual to join our team at Hurst Park Primary Academy as a Learning Support Assistant.

This is a brilliant opportunity to support our pupils’ academic journeys whilst ensuring they have a safe and happy experience during the lunchtime break. You’ll work closely with class teachers to provide tailored support, helping pupils overcome barriers to learning so they can really flourish.

What You Will Bring

We are looking for candidates who can demonstrate:

  • A proven ability to support children’s learning and development.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team.
  • Resilience, patience, and a positive "can-do" attitude.
  • A commitment to the inclusive ethos of Hurst Park Primary Academy and the wider LEO Academy Trust.

Why Choose LEO Academy Trust?

  • CPD: LEO Academy Trust champions continuous professional development and delivers a programme of in house CPD. We also work with a range of partners to offer accessible training for all staff including e-learning and face to face workshops.
  • Succession Planning: We believe in the importance of succession planning, and that we are well placed to support you in your next challenge. We offer opportunities to work across different academies within the Trust, and a commitment to promotion opportunities, encouraging ‘home grown’ talent.
  • Digital Innovation: LEO Academy Trust is a leader in digital innovation, providing staff with the tools and technology they need to excel.
  • Health & Wellbeing: Access to a comprehensive staff wellbeing package, including digital health support and resources found on our dedicated staff health and wellbeing page.

The Small Print

In line with statutory requirements for schools, all successful candidates will undergo thorough pre-employment checks to ensure the safety of our pupils. This includes obtaining an enhanced DBS certificate and checking the barred list, confirming your identity and right to work in the UK, and verifying your professional qualifications. We will also carry out overseas checks where applicable.

You will need to provide at least two satisfactory references and any gaps in your work history must be explained. Please note that as part of our due diligence, we also conduct online searches, including social media, for all shortlisted candidates.

Equality of Opportunity

LEO Academy Trust is committed to promoting equality of opportunity for all staff and job applicants. We aim to create a supportive and inclusive working environment in which all individuals are able to make best use of their skills. Applications are invited from all members of the community. We do not discriminate against staff on the basis of age; race; sex; disability; sexual orientation; gender reassignment; marriage and civil partnership; pregnancy and maternity; religion, faith or belief (Equality Act 2010 protected characteristics). The principles of non-discrimination and equality of opportunity also apply to the way in which staff and Trust treat visitors, volunteers, contractors and former staff members.

Safeguarding & Equal Opportunities

LEO Academy Trust is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. Please read about our commitment to safeguarding as well as other important information in the Applicant guide on our website.

Other Information

All candidates should detail how you meet the aspects of the person specification for the role. You should describe your suitability against the person specification and ensure that you cover all essential criteria (and desirable criteria where possible, though if it is not marked as essential, please assume all are essential), by providing evidence and examples of proven experience. We are unable to accept CV’s without a completed application.
