At Milestone Site, we support learners with a wide range of needs including severe and profound learning difficulties, autism, complex communication needs, and physical and sensory needs. We are looking for caring, enthusiastic and committed Learning Support Assistants to join our dedicated team.
This is much more than a support role. Every day is different, every achievement matters, and every interaction has the potential to change a learner's future.
Why Join Milestone?
Our provision is organised into four specialist pathways:
🔍 Explore - sensory-rich, play-based learning for our youngest learners and those with the most complex needs.
💜 Aspire - supporting learners with autism and complex communication needs through personalised approaches, structure and sensory regulation.
💙 Connect - developing communication, relationships and independence using visual supports, AAC and meaningful interaction.
🧡 Climb - preparing learners with moderate to severe learning difficulties for adulthood, independence and life beyond school.
What Will You Be Doing?
As a Learning Support Assistant, you will:
Support learners in lessons, therapeutic activities and daily routines.
Help learners develop communication, independence and confidence.
Use visual supports, sensory approaches and practical activities to engage learners.
Build positive, trusting relationships with learners and their families.
Support personal care where required.
Assist with moving and handling procedures (full training provided).
Work closely with teachers, therapists and other professionals.
Celebrate and encourage every step of progress, no matter how small.
We're Looking For People Who:
✔ Enjoy working with children and young people.
✔ Are patient, positive and resilient.
✔ Can build strong relationships and work as part of a team.
✔ Are willing to learn new skills and approaches.
✔ Want to make a genuine difference to the lives of learners with SEND.
Previous experience in a school is helpful but not essential. We welcome applicants from a wide range of backgrounds including care, health, youth work, childcare and early years, customer service and community roles.
Join us and become part of a team where every learner matters, every achievement is celebrated, and every day brings the opportunity to change a life.
