Learning Support Assistant

Student Support - Inclusion

Start date: September 2026

Salary: Full Time Equivalent £25,918 / Pro rata Actual salary £20,873

Contract type: Permanent

35 hours per week - Monday to Friday

Term time only, 38 school weeks plus training days

About the role

We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and committed Learning Support Assistant to join the team, to:

  • Develop students’ ability to access learning by use of interventions and skills as guided by SENDCo and / or expert professionals  

  • Work with either individuals or groups of students to ensure their safety and facilitating their physical, emotional and educational development

  • Support and monitor the progress of individuals/groups of students in the classroom

  • Promote independent learning

  • Establish a supporting and positive relationship with students and parents/carers

About you 

The successful candidate will:  

  • Have experience of working with students with SEN

  • Be confident in the use of Information Technology

  • Be flexible and willing to learn

  • Have a commitment to your own CPD this could include a Level 3 TA Qualification (if you have not undertaken this qualification or similar and do not have relevant experience in this area) or willingness to undertake this training which will be delivered by United Learning with supported time to complete this qualification.

You will be working proactively to improve the progress of our students with classroom support and interventions in order to ensure students of all abilities can access a high standard of learning and achieve their best possible outcomes.
