Job Title: Teaching Assistant

At Elm CofE Primary School we are committed to creating the foundations to build successful futures. We are looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join our supportive team and play a key role in ensuring high quality teaching and learning for all pupils across the school.

Key responsibilities:

  • Assess the needs of pupils and use detailed knowledge and skills to support pupils' learning
  • Establish productive working relationships with pupils, acting as a role model and setting high expectations
  • Support pupils consistently whilst recognising and responding to their individual needs
  • Encourage pupils to interact and work co-operatively with others and engage all pupils in activities
  • Organise and manage appropriate learning environments and resources

Pay, Hours and Contract:

  • Points 5-6 (FTE £25,583- £25,989 per annum)
  • £14,453 pro-rata
  • 25 hours per week, 38 weeks per year
  • Permanent contract

Qualifications and skills:

  • A minimum qualification of GCSE Maths and English at Grade 4 (previously Grade C) or above, or an equivalent qualification
  • NVQ Level 2 in supporting teaching and learning or equivalent
  • Have experience of working with children and/or as a Teaching Assistant
  • Principles and practices of high-quality teaching and learning
  • Ability to build effective relationships with colleagues, parents/carers and members of the community
  • High levels of adaptability and flexibility
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people
