Job description

Tyne and Wear Learning Trust are seeking to appoint an outstanding and enthusiastic School Lunchtime Supervisor to join their highly successful school kitchen at East Herrington Primary Academy.

East Herrington Primary Academy is a vibrant, welcoming and inclusive school, renowned for its strong sense of community and commitment to excellence. We foster an environment where both staff and pupils thrive, promoting collaboration, innovation, and the highest standards of achievement.

We are looking for an enthusiastic and forward-thinking Lunchtime Supervisor to support our lunchtime provision. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who is passionate about supporting children, promoting positive behaviour and creating a safe, happy and inclusive lunchtime experience. You will have the opportunity to bring new ideas, creativity and ambition to our lunchtime provision, helping children to enjoy their lunchtime and develop positive relationships with their peers.

Working alongside the school team, you will provide support, care and supervision, ensuring that children are safe, happy and well supported throughout the lunchtime period. You will help to promote positive behaviour and encourage children to engage positively with others, both during their meal and playtime.

We are looking for someone who:

  • Has experience of working with children or young people, or a strong commitment to supporting children in a school environment.
  • Can communicate effectively with children, colleagues and stakeholders, use initiative and bring fresh, creative ideas to develop our lunchtime provision.
  • Is committed to providing a safe, happy, inclusive and enjoyable lunchtime experience for all children.
  • Is organised, proactive and confident, with the ability to manage the day-to-day demands of a busy school lunchtime.

As part of Tyne and Wear Learning Trust, you will benefit from:

  • A supportive and collaborative team where your ideas and expertise are valued.
  • Access to professional development and training to support your career progression.
  • A comprehensive Employee Assistance Programme (EAP) offering confidential support and advice.
  • Staff discounts through Discounts for Teachers, helping you save on a wide range of everyday purchases and experiences.
  • A generous pension scheme to support your future.
  • A strong commitment to staff wellbeing and work-life balance.
  • The opportunity to make a real difference to the lives of children
