Midday Supervisory Assistant (MDSA)

Uffington Church of England Primary School · Faringdon · Oxfordshire

Job description

Uffington C of E Primary School is a small, friendly village school with a big heart. We are looking for a caring, enthusiastic and reliable Midday Supervisory Assistant (MDSA) to join our dedicated team.

At Uffington, our vision is "Everyone Matters", and our Christian values of Love, Respect and Resilience are at the heart of everything we do. We are looking for someone who shares these values and is passionate about helping children feel safe, included and valued.

What will the role involve?
  • Supervising and supporting children during lunchtime, either in the dining hall or on the playground/field.

  • Encouraging positive play, friendships and inclusive activities.

  • Promoting good manners, kindness and respectful behaviour.

  • Supporting children to develop independence and resilience.

  • Helping children manage minor disagreements positively, in line with our school behaviour expectations.

  • Ensuring the safety, happiness and wellbeing of all pupils.

  • Being a positive role model who demonstrates our school values in everyday interactions.

We are looking for someone who:
  • Enjoys working with children and has a warm, friendly approach.

  • Is patient, caring, approachable and enthusiastic.

  • Can build positive relationships with children and colleagues.

  • Is confident in promoting positive behaviour and supporting children with different needs.

  • Works well as part of a team and uses their initiative.

  • Understands the importance of safeguarding and keeping children safe.

Previous experience is welcome but not essential. What matters most is a positive attitude, a willingness to learn and a genuine commitment to making a difference to children's school experience.

Why join Uffington?

You will become part of a supportive and welcoming school community where everyone is valued. Our small school environment means you will really get to know the children and play an important role in helping them enjoy their school day.

Every interaction matters, and every member of our team makes a difference.
