Our Opportunity

We are seeking friendly, resilient, and enthusiastic people to join our team as Midday Supervisory Assistants.

This part-time position plays a vital role in ensuring that pupils have a safe, enjoyable and positive lunchtime experience, both in the dining hall and the wider school grounds.

This role would suit anyone looking for work that fits around other commitments, those considering a career working with young people, or individuals wishing to gain valuable experience before progressing to a Teaching Assistant role.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise students during lunch breaks in dining areas, corridors, social spaces and outdoor areas.
  • Monitor student behaviour and encourage positive conduct in line with the school's behaviour expectations.
  • Assist with maintaining a safe and orderly environment throughout the lunchtime period.
  • Support students in accessing and participating in lunchtime activities.
  • Respond appropriately to incidents and concerns, escalating matters to relevant staff where necessary.
  • Provide basic first aid when required and ensure incidents are recorded and reported in accordance with school procedures.
  • Help to resolve minor disagreements between students and promote respectful relationships.
  • Report any safeguarding, welfare or behavioural concerns to the appropriate member of staff.

The successful candidate will have

  • An understanding of health, safety and hygiene requirements
  • Relevant experience of working with, or supporting, children / young people
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • The ability to work effectively as part of a team
