Job description
Blessed William Howard Catholic High School is seeking to appoint a Minibus Driver to operate a regular School route to collect students from surrounding areas.
The role will require you to work a spilt shift - approximately 3 hours per day, Monday to Friday - mornings and afternoons.
This role involves transporting students to and from school in a minibus, carrying out daily vehicle checks to ensure the vehicle is clean and roadworthy and refuelling the vehicle as required. Working within health and safety guidelines and maintaining accurate records of students using the service is essential to the role. Attendance is required at any relevant training courses.
Additional adhoc driving hours may be available during the day including school trips and sporting fixtures.
The successful candidate will:
- Have experience in a similar role;
- Hold a valid UK driving licence;
- Have D1 on their licence;
- Hold a First aid certificate (although training is provided if you do not already have this);
- Be reliable and a good timekeeper;
- Safely transport students on a designated route to and from school
- Hold responsibility for the safeguarding of students;
- Ensuring the safety of all students travelling on the minibus and to ensure all are wearing seat belts
- Advising the school of any issues occurring on the minibus during transporting of students or any damage after a drive
- Conduct the required vehicle safety checks before and after use.
- Ensure the designated minibus has adequate fuel to complete each journey and enough should the minibus be needed during the day by the school.
- Keep the inside of the designated minibus clean and tidy.
- Promote and represent the school in a positive manner.
