English is a vital component of our curriculum, playing a pivotal role in shaping students' academic and personal growth. We offer a comprehensive range of courses comprising Year 9 English, GCSE English Language and Literature, English Functional Skills, and A-Level English Literature. Each course is designed to cater to diverse learning needs and interests. More than just a subject, English is fundamental to developing essential literacy skills that underpin success across all areas of life. For our students, we aim to foster critical thinking, effective communication, and broad understanding of language, literature, including its relevance to society.

This role would suit teachers seeking more flexible arrangements around childcare, phased retirement, or industry / armed forces colleagues wishing to blend teaching alongside other roles.

Contracted hours are 0.6 FTE including flexibility in the working start time and end time of days, supporting childcare needs.

English is a vital part of not only our curriculum in which we deliver Year 9 English, GCSE English Language, GCSE English Literature, English Functional Skills, and A-Level English, but also a key part of our students' literacy development especially following COVID-19.

With our dedicated Early Career coaches and outstanding CPD programs, this role is perfect for an early career teacher who is ready to learn and develop their subject and career in a dedicated and passionate English department, or an experienced English teacher. You will join a friendly supportive 100% specialist team consisting of: the English Curriculum Leader, Assistant Curriculum Leader, KS5 coordinator and one senior teacher.
