Pastoral Administration Assistant

Job description

Ashton on Mersey is seeking to appoint a talented and hard-working Pastoral Administration Assistant will deliver high-quality, professional administrative support across key school operations. Key responsibilities include managing attendance intervention records, administering behaviour systems and detentions, coordinating careers and work experience records (including Gatsby Benchmark monitoring), and providing administrative support to the pastoral and safeguarding teams.

Ashton on Mersey School is in the central hub of The Dean Trust and serves the community of Sale and beyond. This exciting opportunity will suit a candidate who demonstrates the following qualities, knowledge and skills:

  1. GCSE in English and Maths Grade A*- C or equivalent
  2. Ability to undertake further training and development as required
  3. Experience of working in a sensitive environment and respecting confidentiality at all times
  4. Experience of working as part of an administrative team within a busy office environment
  5. Knowledge of and competency in the use of Microsoft office suite of applications
  6. Knowledge of how a multi-academy trust operates
  7. Ability to grasp, assimilate and apply information and concepts quickly
  8. An enthusiastic, proactive and positive attitude towards young people and the education environment
  9. Flexible approach to working arrangements and ability to cope with a wide range of tasks in a busy and changing environment 
  10. Ability to consistently produce work of a high standard
  11. A willingness to undertake all reasonable duties as the role requires
  12. Ability to use own initiative in undertaking tasks with minimal supervision demonstrating proactivity and forward thinking
  13. Proven communication skills, both verbally and written, and the ability to communicate effectively up to executive level
  14. Ability to work effectively with a wide range of people and services
  15. Ability to prioritise workload
  16. Ability to work to deadlines with excellent attention to detail and accuracy levels
  17. Excellent time keeping and attendance record
  18. Articulate and attentive to detail
