About this Role
Pastoral Support Manager
Location: Barnhill Community High School
Salary: £31,169 per annum (Scale 6, Point 20) actual salary
Contract Type: part -time, permanent
Working Weeks: 38 Weeks (37 term time +5 INSET days)
Hours: 36 hours per week - Monday to Friday, working between the hours of 8am and 4pm with an unpaid 40 minute lunch break.

Staff Wellbeing: We have a very well thought of staff wellbeing that focusses on allowing staff to concentrate on their work without unnecessary impediment. In addition to this there is a range of supportive measures such marking from home, wellbeing events and staff celebrations.
The Role: To promote a positive and supportive ethos in the student body. To support student development, behaviour, attitudes, attendance and safeguarding in a designated key stage. To support students learning progress and to support parent engagement.
Key Responsibilities:
Be the daily first point of contact for students requiring support.
Record and report any matters of a safeguarding nature using the schools’ systems.
Support a case load of students who require support such as mentoring, counselling and lower level safeguarding concerns.
To actively encourage interaction with parents as required.
Keep accurate and intelligible records of students, for example those with particular needs, those with adapted curriculum, those in receipt of counselling etc.
To plan, and deliver interventions that help students build confidence, resilience so that they can manage their own dilemmas, resolve their own difficulties and prevent further problems in the future.
